I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.
I own a 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 with the 900 watt 19 speaker Harmon Kardon option. A $2000 option I did not want but had no choice. The back deck consists of two 6x9’s, two, 3 ½’s, and one 8 inch subwoofer.
The 8 inch sub vibrates the rear deck to the point that it’s unbearable. I put dynamat where I could but only helped a little. So I decided to put in an external amp and sub box. I installed an AudioControl LC2i along with a JL Audio JX500/1D, and JL Audio CP212-W0v3 Box.
Everything sounds great when the ignition is in ACC. But once the car is started no sound is coming from the subs. With a DMM I tested the signal coming out of the stock connector that feeds the LC2i. Voltage is shown in ACC but shows 0 volts when engine running. The LC2i seems to be sensing something because it turns on. But nothing else. If I connect the JL Subwoofer directly to the stock Harmon Kardon amp everything works just fine. My JL amp also has high level inputs and gives the same results as the LC2i. So I don’t think it’s the LC2i. How could the stock amp possibly know what is hooked up to the speaker wire. It’s simply two wires. Positive, and negative. Don’t think canbus can do that. I am going to orderd a PAC but would love to know why this is?
Thanks.
