right now i have two 12" alum 12x's they are 1000 watts RMS a piece. i have them connected to an audiobahn 1300hcx which is 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm i believe.

i want to get something different. i want to see if i could get 1 sub to replace both of these but keep the same amp

any suggestions? oo and my budget is something around 200 or so

i know this has nothing to do about ur post but how are those subs ? I need to upgrade my system and was looking at those exact subs.I mean are they just sq or spl or both?

I would say get an Resonant Engineering SX 12" or 15".... i think they take 1000 and they are great subs. I dont know what size your looking at getting, or what vehicle you have, but for that amp, the SX series would be good.

Naw dude, I currently have 2 adire brahma 12's.

Audiobahn is underated, im a fan, cause i would remember the days when i would shock the guys who had kickers, RF, JL's, mtx, treo, and yes adire.

I still got 2 ALUM10Q's new ones retired for home use.

I used to have

3 AWT12's 3jbl bp1200.1( 1370rms each amp)

6 ALUM10x on the jbls ( 2 of the subs blew)

ive never had a problem with A-bahn

Obviously uve never heard their good subs.

And yes there lower end stuff is crap, there amps are over rated, components nothin special. But their higher end woofer do Knock.

I wouldnt be surprized if i hit 150 or more with the three AWT's

the subs are great its just time for something different. they can be used for both sq and spl...its just a matter of what box and how they are set up..

u think 15" L7 would be better then these two 12's?

alum10... seems like u know this brand...do u know the specs on the 1300 hcx amp?

and as good as the xxx sounds its out of my price range

i said the same thing about the xxx,''its way too expensive for a 17 yearold kid with not much of a job to afford'' but now i have enough for one..

what up dog. When we tested the hcx1300 it was stable at 1 ohm. 1120 approx. at one ohm. Its rated is 1200 at 1 ohm. So its a little over rated. But i bet you ur satified with your amp. The hcx1300 is equivilent to the jbl bp1200. I used to use that as my primary amp. I get the feeling that you are looking for a spl set up without sacrifing the sq. 200 dollars will get a nice 15 inch sub.

now remember that you are probably hooking up the Alum12's 3 ohm parallel. So you can probably use that same amp in your next setup at 1 ohm.

so the sub that you are currently looking for is a 15 inch sub that can handle 1200 rms. I recommend u try to save another 50 dollars

YOUR SUB: SOUNDSTREAM T4 15 inch ( hook it up at 1.5 ohms from the HCX)

soundstream T4 15 truely handles 1000rms
