power handling of these subs is totally dependant on the type and size of their enclosure. In a small-medium sealed box (.5 to 1.0) i'd suggest 500-1000 watts each. They will get very loud and still sound pretty decent. They tend to sound best SQ-wise in a 1.5cuft sealed box stuffed with about a pound and a half of polyfill. and I'd suggest 400-700w per sub in this enclosure. More than that tends to make it bottom out easy. If you're going ported, the power handling is a lot more variable. The largest ported box I'd suggest using would be about 5-6cuft per sub with about 140sqin of port, but that's for competition only and will frag the subs real quick in a daily driver application. I've given a single sub 1200w constant in this box for about 30 seconds before i started to smell it cooking. The happy medium of ported boxes would be one like I have for sale in my signature, and just build one for each sub, or simply double the internal volume and the port area (4.9x2 = 9.8 cuft internal volume, 50x2 = 100sqin of port). Each sub will take a jbl 1200.1 all day long in this box if the gains are set correctly. The problem with the 1200Q's is that they need a lot of air space to reach their full potential in a ported situation (throw audiobahn's box chart out the door.....i have no clue where they got those numbers!). So unless you're driving an SUV or something with enough trunk to hide a few dead bodies, you're not going to see what these subs will do.

If you haven't bought the subs already, I'd suggest you have a look at the box/sub/amp combo i'm trying to sell. The price is negotable, and I'm willing to pay the shipping or deliver it if you don't live too far from me. Trust me: One 1200Q in that box will out-perform a pair of them on the same power in audiobahn's suggested boxes. I've played with these subs enough to know what they can and can't do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
