digidash hit the gas...
I need more trunk space and Im tempted to swap this older sub in with a prefabbed 1.3 cube enclosure and give it 1000 watts rms (one amp per coil). This is one of the original older audiobahns so its actually a pretty beefy sub. I got both lying around. The aw1000 is actually a decent sub compared to the new audiobahns.
Getting tired of not having much trunk space.
Would it be okay to run one amp per coil (I have a rca splitter coming out of my preamp/crossover unit so the signal is the same and I set the gains equivalent using a multimeter. Its an audiobahn so I dont care that much and it cant be any worse than wiring one coil and leaving the other coil unwired (which I have done before with no problems).
Thoughts? Reason I am considering it is because one of my amps is not installed right now and I plan on installing it later this week so I am wondering if one 10" big *** sub with 1000 watts would be the same spl as 2 10" smaller infinities with 500 watts in a ported box.
