so it's christmas day, we did the family thing, got the presents past, giftmas is over

so i'm bored.

i have an audiobahn 8 that i put a drill bit through at my work (through the surround) so i had to buy it, and now i have it.

i stripped my 4x12 fiberglass enclosure out of my car.

i need bass.

it's come to me, that today, among all days, is the day to build an audiobahn box, so i go to homedepot..

and remember it's christmas day, when i get there, lazy bastards are closed, where are my jews at? why cant they work.

so i go back to the house, i have (1)some extra 1/2 plywood, (2)all my wood working tools (everything i need for box building, this is not my first, ****, this isn't even my 50th box.) (3) some glue and caulk

missing screws! so i go to the gas station for screws, (has all kinds of ****) but no screws, he has nails and gray tape, the plan is shaping in my head.

this will be the shittiest box i have ever built, but ****, it's for an audiobahn, who even cares.

so, i made a box plan on my computer, it's 1 audiobahn 8 in .72 cubes (after displacement) slot ported to 35hz, i'll go start building now, and get pics up of everything.

a phillips head drill bit

that should clear that up : )

update, i dont have a hammer, i never use nails, the nails wont go in the box.

**** it, it's an audiobahn, i took it out of the cardboard box, and looked at the box it came in, well ****, it's 10x10x6... my box was supposed to be 11x7x9, close enough.

so i taped the box with 3 layers of gray tape, made me a port with a toilet paper roll cardboard insert, and she's about done, pics up soon

going to wire this baby up, and test her out.

i'm hoping for some box flexing

i only have 220 watts to test her on.. . and those are boss watts,

awaiting the return of the bass : ) 1 soloX10 on 2500 watts, 6 cubes 68hz ported for comp... 2.5cubes 35hz ported for daily.

i'll have that full box build/fiberglassing session with a worklog on here too.

yes, that last picture is a double baffle for this huge woofer, the weight was too much with that port there..

there are no leaks in this beast, except the port, i can actually put my mouth on the port and the box will expand, great for SPL, so, i'm going to eat dinner then toss this mother in my car for some listening

Mike, you must be sooo bored man!

I am gunna get all my gear soon, and maybe see about you helping me make some fiberglass lower panels for some 8"s.

Now I wanna come to Tally to hear that bad boy! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

By the way, how are the tickets coming along? And how much exactly did you pay for that flaming monster?

so, i put the box in the car, that mother ***** is blown already, pissed i am.

obviously 200 boss amp watts is far too much for the audiobahn 8.

sounds like a roadmaster piece of something, farts real bad, and well, to be honest, sounds like a blown factory speaker.

would i do it again? no, probably not, am i glad i did it? yes, it was fun, and the voice coils are still intact, so i'll be socketing this ***** once i get my new sub in.

95f150:

40 **** dollars for that piece of ****.

dnt use those 8's..

get some RE8's on the gruop buy, or some kicker CVR8's are decent.

kickin audio:

screws wouldn't have saved this project kickin audio, thanks though : )

azbass: thanks for the enthusiasm.

welp, met up with kickinaudio to pick up a battery he's had for sale, checked out his ungodly huge stinger battery under the hood, 16 runs of 0 gauge to the rear, 14.75 volts at the hood, 14.75 AT THE AMP, with the car off.

with the car off, volume at 30 (above listening volume) voltage drops were .02 at most, didn't go below 14.70

so, we decide that the audiobahn 8 needs to check out a kicker kx2500.1

so this is the first teaser video.

we also destroyed a preformance technique sub, which was actually pretty loud in the 5 gallon bucket, gray taped in, must have been the kicker wire.
