Audio problems need help!!!

Hello everyone, I have a 1988 chevy silverado. I recently bought a jvc mp3 stereo for my truck, the only problem is that when i raise the volume too much the radio turns off. It had already happenned on my old stereo that is why i decided to buy a new one. I dont think its the radio maybe the wiring or something else. I also noticed that when i turn on the headlights to my truck the radio turns off momentarily then turns on again. I would surely appreciate your help in fixing this annoying problem.
