Audio: Best Headunit that is IPod ready or has front AUX/USB ports? or both?

My first deck's (about a year and half old) CD output has crapped out so I'm now looking for a head unit. I'm looking for one that is either IPod (or IPlug?) ready, or has front AUX/USB ports, or even both. With my old head unit I had neither, so I just kept piling up the MP3 CDs, and I don't want to do that anymore. Here's a few I've been looking at on onlinecarstereo.com. It seems as though they have the cheapest prices...

Sony CDX-GT420IP - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18554

Sony CDX-GT620IP - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19256

Dual XDMR7700 - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18373 (has IPlug included)

Clarion DXZ385USB - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18797

JVC KD-PDR40 - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19064

Panasonic CQ-RX400U - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19555

Boss Audio 745BA - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18912

Boss Audio 638BA - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17511

Pioneer Premier DEH-P400UB - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18769

I really don't have much experience with any car audio stuff/knowledge, as I bought my amp and subs from a friend (1900W power akoustic amp, and 2 ten inch rockford fosgates punch p2's), and had him install them along with my current deck. So if someone can give me some advice here it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Single Din, I would go with Alpine IDA-x001 if you want Ipod only. This unit mimics the controls on a Ipod. or the CDA 9885 that will play cds. If you want Imprint, which I love, Go with the 9887 or the double din w-505. I have all of these in different vehicles and have been pleased.

I was recommended the Alpine CDA-9884, and found it on one site for $170 with the KCE cable for IPod hookup. Should I go with that one? I was told it has the fastest IPod connectivity.

And my price range is anywhere from $100-200

I like my pioneer 6900ub
timez 2

The DEH-P6900UB doesn't have front-side USB/Aux, but you can just buy an aux and run it behind your HU and leave it either sticking out the side where the carpet meets the console, or drill some holes... or, if you're feeling adventurous, make some flush-mounts... The Aux shouldn't be too hard, but the USB one is.

Oh, and it has like a 7-band EQ... and a ish load of settings....

And 3 pairs of RCA out's (front, rear, and sub) with some great voltage on 'em. I believe it's 4? I'm not sure, though.

as said, I was recommended the CDA-9884, and was introduced to the iDA-x300 which is a digital media player. Does anyone know a lot about Alpine, or know anything about these two players? Those are the two I'm deciding between. Since I'm not an audio man by any means, is there really any huge differences I should know about besides the iDA doesn't play CDs, and has USB capabilities? If I plan on using my IPod mostly (I MAY use an MP3 CD occasionally, but It wouldn't be often), which one should I go with?

ghart, is IMPRINT really worth it? While I wouldn't be able to purchase it now, I could wait until my birthday/Christmas season or whatever. If it is worth it I may bump up to the iDA-x200 instead of the x300 since it's IMPRINT ready. However, if it's not worth it I'll stick with the x300.

Yes, I have it in 3 of my vehicles and it makes a big different especially in sound stage and width.

compared to the x100 the x200 and below are straight trash...i wouldent touch any of those, if you look hard enough you will find a x100 for 160ish

You might want to review or search some info on the site before ordering because even though they have the lowest price, most of them arent instock..and you have to wait about a month or so to get your HU. I heard some bad review about them..Just a thought

I'm running those in my pickup. There's no real "best amp" answer. You want something with really low THD, and 100-150w RMS per channel.
