Audible Difference between 600 vs 800 watts RMS?

Would there be a audible difference between running 2 infinity 1260's on 300 watts RMS vs 400 watts RMS? I am comtemplating whether I should stick with my ASPM-1300 or get the 800 watt RMS MB Quarts amp

You're trying to put 400 a piece on them instead of 300 a pc. on them? If so, I don't think you're going to hear much difference... Hope I understood the question right.

If the subs can use it he will hear it. Its easier to hear a power increase like that at lower wattages.

Yeah.... I guess. And the quartz is a nicer amp than that pos Audiopipe.

Yea. Right now with the ASPM-1300 I'll be pushing 300 watts RMS apiece, but I want to get an MB Quarts Ref800 amp, and do 400 watts apiece. But I need to sell thee ASPM. I just wanted to know that if I did make the switch, would it be louder. And those infinity subs are underrated, I've heard you can push around 450-500 watts RMS to them. I wanna do 400.

You'll sell it pretty quick on here or Craigslist I'm guessing. Wife had a pair of the Infinity's. I put about 450 a pc. on them and they took it like a champ! One of the nicer budget subs imo....

not much but some.......I did a test on a 500w sub once......same sub running 600W and then a 900W amp

it hit harder but didnt get much louder.....however some lower wattage subs can get even louder with less

power

Save your money, buy something better the AP or that MB quarts. Set gains properly on a good 1K amp and it will sound way cleaner

Theres a couple of sundown 1Ks for sale in the classifiends, for like 225. THats a dope deal on a bomb lil amp, ure subs would sound WAYYY better on one of thoughs

No, probably not.

MB Quart is better than the AP and you may notice a difference just because the MB will have cleaner power.

Doubt he would notice a difference because of "cleaner power." If his gain was set right the power would be equally clean. I bet though he would like throwing 500 watts to each sub much better.

there is not a difference, as humans we hear in 3db increments. To get an increase of 3db u have to double the power. So to hear a difference u would have double the power. From 600 watts to 1200 watts to hear a difference.

No, the AP's are known for "dirty power" dmm can't show clipping. That said, unless he had some pretty bad distortion he may not hear much of a difference with such a small increase.

Nah, probably won't hear much difference. It could happen though. I'd still go with the MB Quartz though. If I really had to choose, I'd find a good 1k amp in the classifieds here that's of better quality, and just turn the gain down a bit.
