Audi S4 Build, Part 1

Finally got my Audi out of the shop a week ago! Runs like a champ, as it should since it cost me $2500!

Gunna start a build using solely the equipment that I have on hand. This means various kinds of 4ga, o/s amps, etc. Nothing too legit for this build, but it will be a nice system to hold me over until I pay off the car (I can't spend a penny until I pay off $2500 and save $1k, as well as pay my debts to Geoff).

Here's what it will consist of...

Headunit: Alpine 9855

Alpine209855.jpg

Speaker Amp: Sony XM-802 (awesome sq amp made in 1988!)

Speakers: Stock BOSE speakers (ooooh! Bose! lol) they are decent I guess

Sub Amp: MMats d500.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Subs: Two Earthquake DBX10's (o/s EQ!) waiting to get them from Shinju

I will be starting the install this afternoon. I do not have the headunit yet, as Geoff is waiting for it to get shipped to his house (I'm trading him for it). So videos will follow later. And I'm still unsure how I'm gunna get a box built for those subs with no monies...I may just throw in my Boston G5&GTR combo until I can afford a box for the EQ's.

Don't worry guys, I'm not gunna pull a CRX on you guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I have to finish this build before I start work next Thursday...

Ohh, some Earthquake action, woot!

Look forwared to some actual build pics....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I ran the power and ground for both amps, but then got rained out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif so that's all for today (i don't have a covered area to work in). Pics will be up late tonight.

Sadly, that's as far as I got before I got rained out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif But it is something I guess...On Saturday I will have access to an actual camera (these pics are from my phone), so I apologize for the poor picture quality. I will get back on it tomorrow if it doesn't rain, and hopefully get both amps mounted and all necessary wires ran to them (inputs, remote, power, ground, speaker wire). I may not be able to run speaker wire to the speaker amp yet, as I have yet to locate a wiring diagram for the stock Bose amp.

I may throw in a cheap Kenwood deck or something of the sort until I get my next deck, which may not be the 9855 since Geoff is bein a lil bitch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I have also decided to throw in the Orion NT 12" instead of the Boston G5, since its final load is 2ohm (not 4ohm like the Boston). It is in the 2cft. sealed enclosure that you may have seen my Cyclone in. There are no terminals on the box yet, so it will be inverted :/ Oh well. Should still sound nice!

I'm also gunna take some better pics of the Sony here in a minute...That one I posted before is shiiiaaat lol

Actually, those pictures came out pretty damn good! I'm impressed. If only everything else on this God forsaken phone worked as well as the pictures...

And yes, I am a pasty white motherfucker //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I know someone would point it out if I didn't...

This amp has the most intresting and unique guts I have ever seen! I love it! This pic is with the power amp section "shield" removed

These are the dual 15000uf Flat Pentachon Capacitors it uses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif

The blue spots on the power amp shield is just thermal paste from when I disassembled it and put it back together (got all over my fingers)

Pics of the guts right when you pop the bottom off the amp

The MMats d500.1 is currently in my buddy's car, so I'll get exterior and gut pics of it hopefully tomorrow.

You can see the Orion NT 12" in the top right of this picture

That's all for today/this morning!
