Attn: Stoners

Think about it economically, even if marijuana becomes legal to use as long as its prescribed by a doctor, the more people that they hand it out to, the better.

First of all, think about prescription drugs, medicare, medicade, etc. Right now, prescription drugs are costing more than they ever ever have because of people buying their Rx drugs from other countries and lowered cost to the needy and elderly. This decreased cost to these selected groups of people creates an increase of demand overall and thus a price increase to those who don't fall into any catergories of reduced cost drugs. The price goes up so much because the companies that produce these Rx drugs only have 7 years before their patent runs out on their SINGLE pill that cost $600 MILLION to make.

So how do you drive these prices down? One extremely effective method is to sell other stuff to make up for any loss of profits you obtain elsewhere. Since these major drug companies don't need a patent for something as natural as Marijuana, they THEORETICALLY would be able to recoup any profit lost from selling Rx Drugs and would be able to keep the price on them down for the demographic of people that aren't 65 or older or not Poor...

You're right in the sense that its a never ending argument, however you have no facts to back up the part in bold.
I do not need fact to back up an opinion. I'm not taking sides in this discussion one way or the other ~ all I'm saying is the discussion is a waste of time to begin with.

Simply because IMO they dont exist.
So what you're saying is, "In my opinion the facts to support or contradict this do not exist."

That's a self-contradictory statement and as such can be disregarded out of hand.

lets see, smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, get lung cancer and sorosis (sp?) of the liver?

or smoke the chronic, with no proven health issues? Ill take smokin the dody
Ummm, I am pretty sure you can get lung cancer from smoking "chronic".

Scientific research has shown that you are just as likely to get lung cancer smoking marijuana as you are from not smoking anything at all. Although marijuana has about 4x the carcinogens, its not really clear why as of yet.

Opinion is one thing, ill respect that. I skimmed your post over too quickly and missed a main point, looks like I misunderstood some of it too. My mistake, it happens.

Im not trying to make you take sides, and you're correct. This discussion is general a waste of time. Regardless of the outcome the closest thing it will come to change, it perhaps a little of other peoples thinking of this matter. That alone is plenty.

Its just that people seem to be brainwashed to be extremly on one side or the other on this subject.

Is an abuser not one who commits the act of abusing?
If you participate in drug abuse, does that not make you a drug abuser?

No an abuser is not one who commits to the act of abusing, I would like tho refer you to the the definition of abusers for you to find the answer to that.

If you can prove that marijuana is harmful to your health, or your social or economic functioning then that is when you have become an abuser by definition. You seem be getting the denotation of Abusers and abuse confused with the connotation that is associated with these words.

Just because your not as likely to get it does not mean you cant get it. There are going to be bad side effects of inhaling smoke into your lungs.

I would like to see that article. Even if that is true, there are many other ways of using Marijuana than just smoking it.

First of all, if you are not any more likely to get lung cancer from smoking marijuana as you are from not doing it all, Then why not do it if you are going to base your decision of that fact alone?

Second of all, I did not say there wasn't other negative health effects from smoking marijuana. Just like smoking anything, there is. There are other forms of getting high those. They are Vaporizers and Edibles. No harm done to you OR your lungs this way. And personally, I always use these two methods unless its a get together.

This is true, I cant dig up the aritcile(s) at work. However ive read that while tobacco contains tar that sticks to your lungs, marijuana for some reason does the opposite. The tar in marijuana smoke on a chemical level doesnt stick to lungs.

Thats true, its still a bad idea to inhale smoke regardless of what kind. Use of a vaporizer goes around that problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It can also be consumed with food. No smoke involved.
