K i basically need alot of help in tweaking my system and i thought you might be able to help me. I had it tested today and it dissapointed me big time. I need to do alot and i don't really know where to start. Any ideas? One guy told me that if i put dynamat (of course i will use something cheaper) inside the box and that would help...Originally posted by RangerMan Yup...

is that all that it is? It kinda worried me that it was smelling that bad.Originally posted by RangerMan Excess glue...what amp are you using???
watch the gains...you have to tweak them exactly right...anybody here that has messed with any kind of competition setup will tell you, it takes well over 2 hours of messing with the gains to get it right. Rent a meter for an hour...maybe with some friends, and tweak the hell out of it. Be patient. How did you break it in? Free Air? That is how it shoulds be broken in...for about 12 hours or so...Originally posted by Alphafrog1 is that all that it is? It kinda worried me that it was smelling that bad.
A PPI PCX-2350 wired to 4 ohm presently. It is putting out somewhere around 1500-1600 watts right now. During competition i think i might try to burp it at 1 ohm for a total of over 4000 watts.
I broke it in for about 2 weeks in my box, playing test tunes and such...Originally posted by RangerMan watch the gains...you have to tweak them exactly right...anybody here that has messed with any kind of competition setup will tell you, it takes well over 2 hours of messing with the gains to get it right. First, the only way to break in a sub is free air. Take it out and play tones ranging from 20 to 100 hz...for about 12 hours. Cranking the gains up is okay, but only for comps...not daily driving. I would recomend that you have a daily driving setting and a comp setting...Originally posted by Alphafrog1 I broke it in for about 2 weeks in my box, playing test tunes and such...
what do you mean by tweaking the gains, does it work better when you find a certain level that seems to be louder?
just take it out and play test tones on it for 12 hours straight? What is the best way, just take it out and keep it hooked up to the amp in my truck?Originally posted by RangerMan First, the only way to break in a sub is free air.
