Attn Loud Trunks

Thanks! I'm hoping to get into something Sundown pretty soon. Of course it will be a 10:laugh:

I did notice that low port area btw. My tuning keeps coming down the more i shrink the trunk. Prabably gonna build new box to peak round 43 or so.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif And of course have a port big enough for my son to get into.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif May try to stretch port to 12 inches wide.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

This box is 5.2 cubic feet before displacement and it ended up being a little to big for sq purposes. Once the port was tuned it peaks at 43 44hz in his car but the higher punchy bass it lacks. So we're going to shrink it to 4.25 cubic feet and just lengthen the port so it'll still tune low. It may not be as loud at the lower frequencies but should make it a lot punchier. Over all the car will still resonate the lower frequencies but the box will play the higher ones and that should be a nice balance.

dangg

big port, does it come out the top then out hte front or ???????
Just the subs and port all facing forward. As you can see the baffle we mounted the port on is removable so we can tune the box. Port ended up being as short as we could make it at about 8". The Alero has a very low tuning frequency and with the box being 5.25 cf the port length didn't need to be that long. Box ended up proving to be a little to big anyways for the tuning frequency of the Alero.

Any guesses on what kinda potential numbers out of a single 18 and ~5kw+? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif still not sure when I'll start the new build, but will have all my equipment needed for 3kw on it by this weekend

Ported to the cabin I'm gonna guess 148ish. ported rear or side I'm gonna say 146ish with some violent flex! Of course my guesses are sealed on the dash.
ported to cabin, "trunk wall" style, I'm hoping with enough tweaking and testing/etc I can get it to break a 50 with the SPL port (it'll be interchangeable), I'd be plenty happy with that
