Unfortunitely, I have to agree that JL is priced at what it should be. If you buy it from a dealer, expect to get ***** on the cost. If you buy it online, expect to save a lot of money, but don't look to JL for help if something goes wrong with it.

Compare these three amps:

Now all three of these amps offer great wiring options, but the Phoenix Gold actually offers more power and at a lower impedance load. But, the JL takes all with the low voltage input of 11v's.

of coarse JL is $$$$ if youre comparing them to crappier brands or internet brands

-JL makes a subwoofer for almost every single application. (SPL, SQ, Show, etc.)

-JL makes amps for almost every single application. (Mono, multi channel, high/low power, modulated power supplies)

-JL products are manufactured with high quality components, contain many features, and look good.

-In every single application there will be another company that produces a product that performs just as well or better, for considerably less money

-In every single application there will be another company that produces a product that performs just as well or better, for more money

-In every single application there will be another company that produces a product that is of similar quality and price.

-In every single application there will be another company that produces an inferior product at approximately the same or higher price.

-On average the MSRP of JL products is higher than other brands' products of similar or better quality

-Online, nobody pays MSRP for anything

With the above points in mind I have concluded that this thread is 100% completely worthless.

They don't make 8" mids less than 1.5" deep.

They don't make a 2x200 / 2x100 single chassis amp.

They don't make any amps that strap (that I know of...I could be wrong on this point)

Because they don't make products that fit my needs, it's an inferior brand....just like ferarri, corvette, etc.

Use the economist's version of inferior. I am not saying build quality is below par.

Although you got silly towards the end there...but my point was that things could also be overpriced because we do not need them. I fail to see why that argument doesn't "count," when it is valid.
