Is it mandatory to put the splat on, or is it okay if I do not even use it in the install/setup?

also can the splat be used to trace the cutout? i do not have the baffle that it comes with.

Me and my friend where going back and forth about the "splat" the other day. I think if you use some t-nuts it would be just as good if not better. It would be alot easier then trying to square up the splat

i run solo x's and dont use it. Just use lag screws though
