atlas coils fried need some help.

anybody know what or around what it will cost to have my atlas repaired? my box flexed and the seem snapped open and the boom went all kinda bad . . the end result. . . my atlas is fried //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/angel.gif.fa7795fff6653f4381ba158c55a48b74.gif and the warranty does not cover burnt coils . D*MN!!!!!!!

its 40dollars for a recone through ascendant. great deal.

same thing happened to me with my atlas. well, it wasnt entirely the same, but it resuslted in me blowing the sub

to tell the truth I was having problems with my baffle area on my box that I normally use so I used a friends box that he built (like shit I guess) and I didnt take the time to inspect it . turns out on the side wall there was only one screw in the very top corner and one screw in the very bottom corner . . and when I turned it up and went to adjust the gains and what not the friggin thing seperated and the sub went nuts and . . . .pow burnt coils! fu*k me . . .and my own stupidity for not over looking the box . . .Learned a valuable lesson . check sh*t out for yourself and trust NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Still sucks, though. Get it reconed, and in a proper box, and just chalk it up as a life lesson.

On a side note, if Ascendant began reconing other companies woofers, they would be nonstop busy at that price.

no, he fried his VC.

someone just mentioned that it is 40$ to recone at AA...which is fairly cheap, so a repair job on a VC might not be too expensive.

your lucky that you even got an atlas. that sub was only $120ish shipped.

IMO - that sub is in the $200~250 catagory. so $180 is even a **** good deal on that speaker.

be glad you got your hands on one.

yeah plus about $13.00 for shipping each way so really it's about $66.00 at the end of the day. I paid $100.00 + 13.25 for shipping. brand new .

which brings me to a question maybe I just hold on to the atlas for now and find out what the new atlas's cost , (anybody know in general what the prices are you dont have to be exact I know alot of people say call and ask thats why I'm saying just in general because I'm pretty sure they are out of the xbl^2 atlas's. )

also would the new atlas's sound right with my existing xbl^2 atlas( i have 2. 1 is burnt and 1 is still good ). ( I have it in a solid 1ft^3 box right now with about 280wrms ) sounds good but not as good as ported! I believe it is mkII they are using on the new subs> ??? anybody have the new ascendant web site ( It said something like the new havoc series subs and talked about mkII. . ... I didnt book mark it and I cant find it on their web site . . .
