Atlanta Resturants

If you want to save money, then why go to that aquarium at all? Just go rent a movie. It's expensive. I went there and it is over-rated, I liked the chattanooga one much better, less crowded too.

If you just have to go and if you don't wanna spend more than $15, then yeah just take her to the varsity. It will be cheap comparitively, the food sucks and is as greasy as a pig's *** but you can say that it's a local landmark and historical restaurant and everyone HAS to eat there once when in downtown.

greasy yes... but the food doesnt ****. Maybe you just cant order right... :shrug:

To each his own, we have one in Athens and I eat there maybe once every 18 months. But my point is this, most females aren't going to consider it good food. Most any girl that likes to eat there probably weighs in over 300 pounds.

Why is the one it chatanooga better? I went there last year.

I hardly ever watch movies. There is only 1 movie that can captivate my attention for the entire length of the movie.

It seemed larger and more spread out. I know they say the ATL one is larger but I think they're just going by gallons of water. I have never officially checked into it but the Chattanooga one just seemed more impressive at the time. The crowd in the ATL one was and is usually ridiculously large, I passed up some sights because I could not get close to them although I did go into each of the main atriums. The one that was cool was the tunnel you walked through where fish were swimming all over. The Baluga whales section I didn't care for, they just went up and down the whole time and seemed kinda pinned in and I actually felt sorry for those animals. I took my daughter but will never go back. I could see it being cool for a date or something but no way I would go on a weekend or holiday.

Oh...I am looking forward to the tunnel thing. I figure I will be disappointed due to high expectations and all. According to the site, ga covers more square feet as well.

It's only a 3 or 4 hour drive so not too big of a deal.

Did you have a reccomendation on a good place to eat?

Yeah, my rating of the 2 aquariums is a subjective one but from what I remember, I enjoyed the Chat one better and it seemed like we got to see more animals or at least the ones I liked more.

There really isn't a good place around there to eat for less than $15 per person. There's nothing in that price range that's unique as a restaurant so you'll kinda be limited to Chili's types. I think it is pretty close to Undergraound ATL and and it's kind of a different area to visit with different restaurants.

Look at some of these:

I may spring for more, but I don't really like $100 per plate kind of places....I just want to see something different. Is underground atlanta very family friendly? It sounds like a drug zone or something.

It's as familt friendly as the rest of downtown atlanta. They had some gangs down there for a while but they were mostly outside on the steps and entrance but from what I have heard, they cleared most of that up. I always liked going down there and I'm a white single dad with no tolerance for gang type behavior. Of course when you get downtown, bums on the sidewalks are common just about everywhere. This is a cool place to eat if you're downtown, a little more than $15 but nothing ridiculous;

While there, go up in the peactree plaza hotel elevator. There is a reataurant up there called the sundial and it is awesome but pricy. The view is unbeaten and the whole restarant rotates around giving you greta views of the city.

If you dont eat there, at least ride the elvator looking to teh outside. Its close by to Daileys
