jp. great work/install. good-times.

we'll take a batch of pix today before we turn in... right now big 3 is 2/3 completed (only engine block to car chassis left) and my yellow top is in and operational, so is the alternator but we havent turned the car on to verify 14.4 yet, but will soon

trunk has been completely layed with cardboard and wiring designs have been developed. pix later tonight, i'll go take some now

if its that bad on lows id doubt the rest of the rta as well, but then again some people like ALOT of bass and a +9 to some isnt much at all lol but on pink noise thats alot. so how does it sound? if you need any help you can call me ill be at work for another 45 min or so

okay so now we've finished wiring completely, and we have tested the alternator partially...

right now we're sitting at:

14.00v idle (completely cold) (~1200rpm for some reason)

14.40v at 2krpm

more results later...

fabricing the pods might happen tonight

we're off to home depot to get screws and some gaskets and a few other things for the amp rack, then tomorrow when it stops raining/snowing we'll grab up some wood

yeah man it sounds awesome. on vocals tracks the first thing to sound off is a little bit of resonating in voices, a little harsh but withstandable.. regardless of how the rta is, it really helped because i would have had no clue to do that to the eq had i not have had the rta.

by the way, we first tried the boxes sealed, then we cut the holes out and played them IB (ish) then we put the membranes in, and we EQ'ed them each time to flat as best we could...

Sealed and IB looked about the same on the EQ (dips around 630hz and peaky at 1khz) but then we put the aperiodic membrane in and it completely switched it around (dips at 800 and 1khz and peaks at 500 ish if i remember correctly)

Sounds awesome regardless, i cant wait to hear more of my collection on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you should deaden the horn body and also CUT DOWN the gain to them. then EQ it. the midbass should be sweet and free flowing when its set up right. it wont have a "real location" to point too.

update: no work done on fabricing the kicks, we don't have any super 77 and dont feel like making ANOTHER trip out

we picked up some carpet (two rolls of 36x72 black from walmart)

for testing, the alternator was:

14.20v idle cold

14.30v idle warm

14.39v at 2krpm

not sure if that was dependant on charge, but that was with HU off, blowers off, all lights off, just minimal current pull etc.

tomorrow when we wake up we'll shower and get some mcdonalds breakfast, then to home depot for wood, super 77, and a bolt to do my big 3 engine block ground.

then i'll take out the rear deck to make my 0awg ground while andy cuts some wood, then we'll start putting wood in and run wires //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

we have an interesting way to run wires. the thickness of my 4awg is about half of the thickness of the wood, so we're thinking about doing some woodworking to router out some lines in the wood to run wires underneath half of it, all within one piece of wood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

horn bodies were already deadened

gain was set on amp at half way (but i know this doesnt matter) then on the processor its set to -8dB if i remember correctly

as far as sweet and free flowing midbass, i am sure that you're going to have to show me what that is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i'll come up and see you on the same weekend i go out to UndercoverPunk to check his stuff out and show him mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

he can add his other ppi on top when he gets it repaired. wiring all hidden and shweet. should be awesome.

Awesome... I SHOULD be seeing you guys soon. Both alts work, now I just have to get everything in.
That box layout looks badass by the way.
YESSS!! i SO want to see your setup. Come now!

This is going to be IB right (subs)? That thing should sound awsome, like I have said earlier....easily one of the best SQ build ups Ive seen take place.
Nah, I'm keeping the boxes sealed, but I will be taking precautions to ensure that for the most part the baffle of the box is isolated from the rest of the trunk. I will be tearing my rear deck open tomorrow while Req is cutting amp rack wood to fill any holes with silicone and putting a few screws into the amp rack from the 6x9 holes (tight fit)

and thx:)
