the website is down so i was wondering what recommended box size / tuning would be for 2 8's ported

don't know for sure, but I have 2 RE8's in a ported box 1.5cubes net, ported, tuned to 35hz. maybe that will help, but don't know since they are different subs.

how do you like the output of 2 8's ported...what kinda wattage are you giving the two?

If I remember correctly it was around 1.4 (.7 a piece)tuned to 40hz. You can tune lower but from my experience,and AA's recommendation, 40hz is the ideal tuning for these subs.

I had 2 AA 8's in ~1.5 tuned to somewhere between 32-34 hz and they did pretty well. But, when I put 4 ported tuned to 40hz, they gave me more of the spl I was looking for..plus still hit the lows well enough for me not to complain. If you feel like 40hz is too high, it wont hurt to tune lower, but they will perform best tuned to 40.

1.2^3 @40Hz is the AA "spec" box. Got pretty loud and low enough to rattle the car decently. Never tried any other boxes/tuning. Here's the link to the specs you need...

hmm...well i am still keeping my 18 in 6.5 cubes....this is just a side project...i think im gonna tune to 36

well, my RE's have a crappy 300 watt Jensen amp on them right now, got metered today , hit 131@40hz on the dash, and 133.3@49hz in the kick, both outlaw btw

does anyone know if AA assasins can handle a little over their RMS..by say 50 watts...giving each 400 instead of 350?

hmm...i wanted to tune low as well....see what i can get outta 2 8's for rap but alot of people here thought i should stick with the rec. 40 htz tuning...
