I just unhooked my apsm-1300, and wired up an Opti500x2 (1400rms) and the difference is night and day. I assumed my distortion I was getting on low notes was due to sub par woofers, that was not the case. The output is about the same, but deeper. The AP does power, its just dirty cheap power. It takes a man to say this, but MisterDeadEye is right...

you need to look again

13.4v with an AP or MB Quart is not adequate for clamping... Just saying and I guarantee on the lower stuff like Decaf you drop lower. I'm not talking **** man I'm done being like that here just annoying to fight daily I'm just saying most clamps are done at the voltage the amps do "rated" at. For example Crescendo's do rated under 14.4v, DC, Sundown.

Your new amp is WAY more efficient then the ones you clamped so yeah of course it's going to do rated @ 13.4+

I've had no issues with mine either. I've been running it a year and a half. But it's been at 2 ohms, and not really ran all that hard. Needed something small I could put under a seat.
