to the original poster... dont get an S8L7, cost too much money. get an S8L5 for her. look similar, similar power handling. small differences in drivers and much cheaper.

you could even go down another step to the comp vr 8''. they are descent in a 1.2 cu ft box + port volume (port 2 x 11 x 35 depth). it should be more than enough to satisfy her.

8 L7 would be pretty awesome...i might buy a cheap roadmaster 8 and hook it up with a friends JL e2400 and show her what happens with cheap subs. she has no idea how a sub works so itll scare her into getting a good one...

You might think Im crazy, but I think you should get a Sony XPLOD and a jensen 400w amp, Thats what I have except I have two subs. If your looking for some extra juice, I would recommend this... I got my subs for $80 each, and the amp is around 100-150 and IMO this cannot be beat for the money.

cheap upgrade I agree with. However the Comp VR's will walk all over an X-plode and you can get them on Ebay for about 75.00 each.
