Ascendant Audio vs Phoenix Gold - Subs?

Hey guys ive done quite a bit of reasearch so far trying to find the best set up to put in the trunk. I've pretty much narrowed it down to a pair of AA Assassin 12's or a pair of Phoenix Gold RSd12d's. The PG subs are only about 10 bucks more so not a big deal. As far as music.. I listen to just about everything so it has to be a sub that can play a good spectrum of frequencies. I pretty much think SQL fits me well.. I really want sound quality but I would like to be able to feel the bass at times. If anyone has heard both of these that could give some input it would be really nice. I was considering the AA Arsenals but they have price tag a bit more than I went to spend. I have heard the PG RSd subs are on par with IDMAX subs but have also heard the Assassins are the best SQ sub in the price range.. hard choice for me.

Running 2 8" assassins in the GF's car and VERY happy with them. Wanted 10's but they were out at the time I stopped by. Get respectably loud and SQ is VERY good. 12's would only be better I'm sure. I know you won't be disappointed with the AA's, but I've never heard the PG's, so can't comment on them.

Just remember that SQ is very subjective, so I'd be leary of basing a decision off of one review.

I have four 12" AA assassins sealed in my trunk right now. Love the sound quality and output from them. Had never heared anything sound so good for such a small price. Mlstrass is right though, SQ is very subjective but I thing you would not be dissapointed with the Assassins.

out of of curiousity why these two?I really don't know about either of them.

but what made you decide to try one of these?
mainly because when I look at a lot of the threads that people post about wanting cheap subs.. AA assassin always comes up and is said to have the best SQ for subs in its price range.. the PG I saw in a review that did very well so I wanted to get some input on it as I have heard very little about it. Both seem very cost effective as they are 90-100 dollars. That's pretty much is why im down to these two subs.. I try to see what people like out there in the price range to try to get a good bearing on what the good products are.

I've been reading alot of good reviews about the RSD at soundbuggy. I've been a PG fan for a long time so I'm biased in the decison. I would think the RSD will yeild better SQ and from the reviews can take a buttload of power.

I have also seen good things about the PG's. I would be wary of the idea that they compare that closely to the IDMAX. Maybe that is true, but I find that hard to believe.

Having said that, there are a lot of people singing their praises and I would really like to hear them.

You may want to keep in mind that the recommended sealed enclosure for one is 1.8.

i would love to see the two tested. put to the test.

also look at how much power he had to them. im sure the main reason for the price difference is that the power handling is probley a big gap.
