Ascendant Audio Build log!

Drove it for 5 minutes..turbo ate itself, sat ever since...
I'll get a new one and finish it one of these days, just broke now.
I hear ya, I remember reading the thread when you blew the turbo up I was just wondering if you had any progress from that point. That should be awesome though when you finish that thing up. Good luck to ya sir! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Looks real good Nick, I wish I could have heard it the other day.

Nice mids...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Spent an hour or so Saturday morning getting nick up and running. Got gains matched on the subs and set the monster loose .......... I swear it was louder. Saturday was all good. Sunday Nick Started claiming victims .Broke 2 screw heads on a sub and launched it out of the the first time.

Here's Nick climbing in to check out the damage and repair it

Rotated the driver a little, put 8 new screws back in and proceeded to bang some more....... I was watching to keep an eye on it. And witnessed the same sub breaking 4 screws this time, yanking the other 4 straight out of the mdf, and the sub coming out of the enclosure 4-5" and then ******* right back in

Those ascendant subs ain't no joke. Snapped screws like twigs, jumped out of the box twice, once ******* back into the box, and didn't phase the sub in the least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Little quote from Ramos!

Truck is meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan for 800 watts a sub!

Gonna epoxy the wood back together and slap some T bolts in it

The 15's are coming out May the 4th...and the final build is starting for something VERY unique //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Next show we are just going to have to set up a video camera in front and inside. Peoples reactions are priceless lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, what kind of screws are you using for the subs? I'm shocked that they're able to rip them out....try using coarse thread drywall screws if you haven't already.

That's what they were , we even tried a larger gauge (diameter) the second time and it snapped 4 instead of two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

that has nothing to do with the subs being badass. its you using shitty *** drywall screws to hold down subs.

Your a bright one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Number 3 drywall screws dont normally completely snap off or completely rip out of the wood every day. The 15's are just a temporary install anyhow, i didnt even use any glue to hold the MDF or the 2x4's together because i'm tearing them out in 2 weeks anyways. I had 6 15's laying in the shop, so that's what went in it.

Just shows how violent it is, it shredded the MDF the 2nd time...it was quite funny, i just laughed...

Didn't hurt the sub at all flopping around literally free air, and i believe thats what Ramos was commenting on.
