Just off the top of my head the Image Dynamics ID8v3, Crystal CMP8, SS Rl-i8 and eD 9Kv2 are all in that same price range. It really isn't that unreasonable of a price (unless, ofcourse, it doesn't perform nearly as well as the other products in that price range). And the JL 8W7 is much more expensive.

Add the ARC v2 8 incher.

That is fairly impressive.

I really don't care what the "other half" of the story is.

Bottom line, for me, is posting what Chad did on his website immediately after it happened was horrible, horrible business ethics and was done maliciously to publicly drag Dan/Adire through the mud while promoting his "new" line-up. There were hundreds of better, more tactful ways of handling the situation.

Everything else to the story is inconsequential, to me.

He copy-n-pasted the Dan's quote onto his website (which, IMO, was nothing but a simple common sense statement...), and then wrote a short novel following it essentailly bad-mouthing Dan/Adire for a couple different reasons. I don't recall exactly what was said as it has been a few months now, and the original page didn't stay up for very long before Chad took it back down and reworded most of it (which tells me after a couple days of thinking about it, he realized posting up there what he did was a pretty stupid thing to do), but I do remember I was quite appauled when I read it because of the very poor things Chad was saying, from a business ethics point of view. I couldn't believe one business was publicly stating such things about the owner of another business (which is not only a competitor, but also a psuedo-business partner). There are certain things that are public, and certain things that are private in business.....Chad was publicly stating some things about his personal opinion of Dan/Adire that really should have stayed private.

If Chad had say "We found this great new techology we want to utilize and improve our products with!"....that's one thing.

What Chad basically said was "Dan's a bad person, Adire's horrible, the technology isn't so great and so we're going with something else".

I don't see how you can call it badmouthing. It was more of a press release letting people know they will never do business with Adire again.

Oh well, I don't find anything wrong at all. Shit happens...who are you (or anyone else for that matter) to tell a company how to handle matters? It's like morals...everyone has their own set.

from a business point of view maybe... such steam shouldn't be let off on a site but possibly in private to friends (however of course this would be bound to come out)

everyone here knows my opinion about Adire after Ology worked with them and it's not a very good one (similar to Chad's)

It's a bit of a pickle to me though because when Dan disappoints a business partner he's not just a buildhouse, he's in fact both a speaker company and buildhouse and a problem with one is a problem with the other

I never read that but I can see where that could have made some people angry with Adire and some people mad at AA for bad ethics

neither one I think is necessarily justified because as a direct customer to Adire most people probably have decent service (though more and more seem to be waiting on recones)

I've never had a problem with any other company I've ever worked with and generally if you do you simply tell other businessmen to avoid said company, however it complicates when a buildhouse is also a storefront company...

Chad wasn't actually a customer of Adire IIRC. His subs were built by an XBL^2 licensed buildhouse, but not directly from Adire.

yes I know...

XBL2 is a licensed technology from Adire audio. Chad therefore had to deal with Dan Wiggins ... probably often and pay him royalties.

it's a bit muddy and I believe, as is highly likely, both sides could have handled it better

assuredly if Chad dealt with Adire's buildhouse directly I would think Dan's comment is simply Atrocious but I believe BOTH were justified to a point...

Dan probably had no idea the design Chad used and Chad thought Dan implied his subs were somehow superior to AA's ....
