there are some really well thought out solutions being proposed here. Once again i am blown away at the level of maturity and intellectual effort being displayed by those in the lounge.

about other countries complaining about us not being there to help:

we came, and they complained. we gave aid, took out tyrannical powers, and complained. i actually just watched a show on showtime i believe about an independant journalist who went to iraq to speak to dozens of iraqis in different parts of the country...and they said the same thing:

we hate america. we hate the americans. how would YOU feel if we came to america and occupied your country?

as stupid as i think the iraqis are, we came to help, and they bitched. if we left, i can agree with you that they would complain some more. but we tried, and they hated us and complained.

from now on i say we say FU*K them. let them rot in their dry *** sandy country.

And about the draft...

I'd consider Conscientious objector status.

First, we should have NOT invaded Iraq.
Why: This country is founded on freedom and diplomacy. This isn't the civil war era anymore. Bush's policy of strike first ask questions later is the stupidest, dumbest and ignorant policy i've seen of every president.

I vote George W. Bush to be the worst president in the history of the united states, right next to Richard Nixon.

Second, terrorism needs to be dealt with HERE. Not in Iraq. If they wanna run around blowin shit up over there, let them. Spent those billions funding the protection of our homeland, and homeland security - not an unwinnable war in a impoverished country.

honestly...

i can't say i am sure how the majority of the population feels..

but i don't trust the media much either...

so i really don't take what is reported too seriously. (not meaning the report you mentioned, but just in general.)

high school was quite funny when the redneck guys who never passed any tests were getting near perfect scores

i am in a elite program w/in the navy because of it.

they make me an officer and pay me well.
