I used to take the box that the mouse/rat came in and slam it on the ground as hard as I could. This would snap the neck or spine of the rat an leave it paralyzed. The rat was still alive, but can't move. Much safer for the snake. I had a Burmise Python BTW.

snakes never bothered me...

when I was a kid I used to catch garder,bull and rattle snakes

the only part I do not like is the smell of the oils that come

off of a snake when you handle it..makes your hands stink

For everyone who said snakes are ok but spiders aren't, I agree. It is a tradition to have a snake in the lettered house of my fraternity, and since we have a guy with a pet snake, he donated it to the chapter and it now lives in the fraternity house. I'm not afraid of them, but for example, today some guys had the snake out of his tank and offered him over to me to hold, and I declined. I'd rather go back to my apartment and play with my little bunny haha. Oh and yes, almost half of the guys in the fraternity have asked if we can feed my bunny to the snake when he gets bigger and no, its not gonna happen.

those are nice looking snakes. i have a 4 year old ball python. only time i have a problem with him is when he escapes

snakes are very interesting to me. but my dumb *** got bit by a friend's python on the hand before and never again will I come near one. I dont trust animals that are unpredictable or that cant be trained. I am a fairly big dude, but if I see a snake 3ft+, I am out!!!
