Alpine mrp-f300 or mrp-f600 depending on the power you're looking for. Both are pretty decent amps.

Old School Sony Car Audio amplifiers and some head units were really good gear.

As others have stated, Sony gear CAN be setup to run for a couple years.

Careful gain setting is key, and since they were outrageously overrated, most people didn't. With the rise of CEA compliance, it's much easier to set things properly. I still don't believe the rating completely though...

I had a few of their subs and an amp... and consistently they just die for unexplainable reasons.

Pros: Cost, stylish, brand recognition, CEA rating, decent cosmetics

Cons: overrated, unreliable, inevitable failure, poor wRMS/$

Better alternatives: Profile, Crunch, Autotek

canon has good cameras cause they speicalize in cameras..

sony has good.. nothing.. cuase they dont speicalize in anything.

I have had good luck with their TVs.

Sure if you can find one and dump about 1000-1500 on it.

My poinion is buy it if you can have it cheap but don't pay retail for it. I had an Xplod 12" sub on a 1000watt Xplod amp for months and all was good, then I used the sub on a 380RMS 2000peek amp and it ran for another month or so fine... then i used it on a Xplod 1000 watt amp again and after 5 min the coil fried. I know I over powered it but being Xplod and waiting for my new sub to arrive i didn't really care lol

the newer xplod amps are somewhat bareable

the older ones are pure POS

The non xplod old sony amps kicked major ass.

I used to have an old X4525 something that did 45 RMS X 2 @ 4 ohm.

Great little amp, ran my comps nicely.
