are the new hcca subs any good?

all of the local douchebags who believe the audio store salesman tell me the new hccas are the most beastlike subs ever. i even had a guy in a shop tell me the 15s would outplay my 18s (which i dont believe for a second) when i went in there to get a mounting kit.

whats the story on these things? are they any good?

oh yeah, and the same salesman also told me the new hcca amps are "built with the same components, and better" as the old orion... i couldn't help rolling my eyes.

after you hit a certain level of quality the install is all that matters.

i'm sure there are instances that the hcca would pout perform your sub. just bc something is good though doesn't make everything else bad . they are just doin their jobs by telling you that , best way to prove em wrong is to compete at their next show.

They get pretty **** loud,no real SQ, in the SPL department though they are pretty good, you could get better at a lower price though.

i intend to do just that this weekend, although its not their show, they will have some vehicles there with hccas, and there will be a termlab.

well, he was telling me they were completely redesigned for 09 from what they were in 08. so i was wondering how the "new, new hccas" stack up, or if dude is just full of shit.

i had read about your experience, but wasnt that when the hcca subs first came out a year or two ago?

mehhh i heard acouple setups with them sounded good but i wouldnt hype them up a guy in my city is running some in a truck and think he's the ish

yes sir. They have a new look this year but im betting no real change. Orion's been going down the tubes for years, why would this year be any different ?
