Are really sony xplodes ???

Back in 91 i was workin with a guy at panera with 4 sony xplod 15's in a huge azz box in his camaro, he had a sony 1000w going to each pair, each amp had it's own yellowtop. He really built the system right, except for his choice of sony equipment, which was probably only 1/2 his fault, and 1/2 the fault of the dude at best buy who sold him on it, it was a really nice install, and sounded pretty decent, sony being the only downfall.

So, if they're done right, they can sound ok, i'm sure if he had jl or something in the same install it would be 2x as loud, but if you don't know any better, you don't know any better.

No ~ I wouldn't say that Xplods are the worst sub available.

Of what I have personally seen/heard I would have to say those Cuspid subs that you see all over eBay and in most every pawn shop in the nation are certainly a front runner in the race if they aren't actually the worst sub.

they are not the worst, But they are defiantly the worst sub made by a major brand name. The stop sign subs they made wernt all that horrible but the only thing that carrys them is the sony name.

they were my first sub like 5 years ago... they got louder than most of you would probaly think.. but they didnt get "low" at all.. maybe if they changed teh cone to a better color and round shape... it wouldnt be so bad lol but then again some xplods go for like $400, now thats a crime
