are my subs any good

i bought two mtx thunder 6000 subs because im a budget car audio builder. they are peak 500w and 250w rms. i hooked them up to a kenwood 800w amp. im just wondering about the quality of these speakers because its hard to find reviews of some of the lower priced subs around. they were just $70 a pop so i want to know if i got my money worth or not.

Personally I dont think they are the greatest but if you are happy with them, thats all that matters.

MTX makes some good stuff so I would say they are of quality. Their are higher quality subs, but also a lot of lower ones. If it sounds good to you and you are happy don't worry about anything else.
I myself just purchased a RF HE2 10" for $75.00 as a budget sub, 400 RMS, 800 Peak. I personally don't like RF much but the specs matched and the price was right. i would say that they are not going to do you that bad. I have heard those subs and they sound decent for the amount of money that they cost.

ya just had to say if your happy thats all thet counts and, eah i just did an install of the he2's in a ford focus for someone as a budget sub, personaly i would recomend the he2 off of ebay and seal the sub, i'm just giveing it 350w and the thing is powerfull for such a cheap sub

i cant really say if you got a good deal because last year i bought 3 mtx 6000's for 30 bucks, but they sound ok

sorry had a bad experience with a rf he2. had one 10 in a sealed box and blew it out with a cheap old sony 222w amp. wont go that route again even though it sounded nice while it lasted. thanks anyway

You wouldnt have had the gain turned up all the way would you? 222 "sony watts" really arent gonna do too much for that sub. If you turned the gain up to get more bass, then the amp was more than likely clipping.
