Are jvc head units any good?

I've used quite a few brands over the years but never tried a jvc before. The reason I am considering it is that it is a double din with variable lighting so I could match my interior lighting with it plus it has a rear usb and 3 outputs(f,r,sub). But I'm not sure of the quality of jvc's stuff. Or is there another double din that I could be looking at? It has to have the rear usb and preferably all 3 preouts. I am trying to match the color to the green of a buick's interior or at least get real close. I just don't like the all the blue's and red's that used to not bother me. Specifically it's a 01 regal.

Idk about the double din units but I have a JVC Arsenal KD-AH 79 and I love it. 3 sets of preouts, front usb, front and rear aux, and variable color. I believe jvc is good quality so I vote for them

It's not one of their cheap units. The cheapest I've found it is 199. It has bluetooth installed which I don't care about but apparently has to have to get the options I want. It is hd radio ready but is it even worth getting? Keep in mind I live in Alabama.

.Also, do not base ur decision on what color a HU offers.
Yea I know not to base it on the colors they offer but I've just grown tired of seeing the out of place looking head units. I think more people would want to put in an aftermarket if they looked like they belonged instead of some ufo piece attached in the dash.

And to be more specific here is the model number I am looking at. JVC KW-XR810 In-Dash Double DIN Car Stereo w/ Bluetooth If anyone has any thoughts on it I would greatly appreciate it.

One thing I did read in the various reviews I have read is that jvc has poor fm quality. Can anyone reply to that? I don't listen to the radio a lot but would want it to sound like it does with the factory head unit.

My friend has the 610 in his truck and it's been fine for I think going on 2 years now. I can't comment much on EQs and such as he doesn't have subs or anything so I haven't dug that far into it.

As for FM reception. I don't think any aftermarket unit I've dealt with could compare to the stock unit it replaced in that regard. Some are better than others, but none are great. I recommend JVC a lot due to the price point. Overall, as a brand, it seems to be the best bang for the buck. That being said, I don't think it's the best in comparison to other brand equivalents, hence why I don't run it. However, to get another brands equivalent, you'll probably have to pay a bit more.

Wish I could help, I just bought off .bay jvckw-hdr720 for 175.00. But I'm a newbee too. Last time I put a stereo in was a 1979 jeep cj 7 and my next cj-5. If you go to crutchfield they have a link to help you pick out and suggest what fits. Can you imagine 2 jeep cj's to a toyota pickup. I should be ashamed. I love them both.

I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. Nothing I've read has been bad at all. I like the touchscreen kind just don't really need it plus they cost more. I can't ever see me wanting to watch a movie or anything.
