ARE HEATSINKS (AMP CASES) NEEDED??? help me plz and thank u!!

Try running your computer w/o the heatsink on the processor.
BOOM.

Anything that has a heatsink originally, should have one in general.

Aluminum should work just fine for you, make sure you have some sort of heat transfer material in between (like the tape stuff on amps).

Yes. Heatsinks are needed... as their name implies... they sink the heat. I believe you can get around insulating each FET if you put a heatsink on each FET. But that will end up being larger than an amp case. Another thing to worry about is damage... honestly, for what it's worth, you should just get a cheap processor that has like 60 or 100x4 watts @ 4. Easier. Better looking. Safer... and you don't have to ghetto-rig a power supply.

HAHAHAHAHA, one of my friends did that with an AMD processer in 2001.... Booted the machine with the heatsink off, and the processor started smoking before the machine finished posting...

After seeing that photo, be glad you didn't win. Go out an pick up a nice set of Logitech computer speakers, you won't be disappointed.

I got two sets of these for my computers..
