are computer speakers self amplified

i have the harman kardon sub and speakers that comes with dell computers, and i was wondering if they were self amplified?? because i was gonna try to hook them up to my TV or DVD player but if they arent self amplified i dont think it will work

well i cant try it unless i go buy an adapter and some RCAs and i wanted to know if it worked before i spent my money
