Arc XXK going bad :-( Should I upgrade?

ive got a 4150 that is not playing well with this cold weather as well. It worked fine til it got really cold, and until the amp warms up i get no sound out of my left channels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif so its gonna get sent to arc for fixing. Anyone know what arc charges for repairs these days?

Not unlike yourself I too drive around a lot for a living, but I prefer leather in my vehicles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Really curious actually what you thought an upgrade might be after the arsenal of amps you tried before settling on the Arc line. As well as the hiss you are experiencing, which would drive me nuts. I am having a hard time believing it is either the 8053 or the Arcs but would try swapping both just to see.

Maybe the next time I cruise through Ohio, I will bring my analyzer along...

That 2500 is a beast I ran 2 of them and a 4150 in a competetion vehical/daily driver and never had any problems. Send it in and get it fixed. AS for the hiss what RCS's are you using? Also check your gains.

Dont get me wrong, I love my arc 4150 but I bought it used on these forums, the seller said it was in excellent condition, but I didnt get a chance to test it for about a month and when i did a channel wasnt working and I PM'ed the seller and havent heard from him since. If I would of bought a new one I doubt I would be having a problem right now with it but thats a chance of buying used //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif They are awesome amps just make sure you buy from someone who is reputable, and if youre looking at ebay they can be chancy too.

Oh my kick my own butt here...... I noticed today that when I hit a bump in the road the music flickered on and off again. This made me think.. connection???? It was warm enough today to get the tools out and remove the drivers side speaker to find the negative was disconnected. I think that was the probelm )( a loose negative connection. Since I reconnected it, it has been working fine. The test will be in the morning though when the temps are back down in the 20's.

As for the Hiss, I Have an Eclipse 8053, with Knukonceptz Krystal Kables, that run to my BLA, which then go to a 2050XXK and two 2500XXK's. I have Peerless HDS tweeters in the A pillars, Peerless Exclusive 8" in the doors and a SI 15" Mag in the trunk. My gains are not even turned a quarter of the way. I think the 2050's gains are at 0 and I had to turn the gains up just slightly on the 2500 running the 8" drivers.

I still have to wonder why the 2500 thats running my 8" drivers starts to clip before the music is causing any kind of distortion. The XXK's have a orange light that will come on if the amp is clipping. I have had my system running at volume level 60 before my ears could not take anymore, without any distortion, but the amps clipping light comes on around volume 54. The 2500 running my sub never has the clipping light come on at any volume.

Brad from Arc Audio is the guy you want to talk to regarding tech problems. He is the one that will repair your amp if its under warranty. I to had a problem with a Arc Audio 1500-XXK. Seems like there was a bad batch of XXK's.
