Arc or Memphis

ok i have a 18'' Fi Bl (dual 2 ohm) i want to run it at 1 ohm and it can handle up to 1800rms with the options I got.....My question is should i go with the Memphis 16-MCD1000 or the brand new arc audio amp that puts out 1000Rms at 1 ohm.....(it is avalible today i think) (BRAND NEW)..... the guy at the local shop says arc but i could save money by going with the memphis....what do you guys think??

Memphis would be a great budget buy and you should get your rated ouput provided that you have the proper electrical upgrades.

Memphis rated @ 13.8V...

Arc rated down to 12.5V...

However much you want to spend.

well right now i have the stock battery and stock alt....but i think the alt is higer current than the normal ones.....

The Memphis are nice amps. I have compared the two before and I prefer the ARC. If you have the room, which this is sometimes a factor when trying to fit the bigger ARC mono amps some where.

both VERY good brands...but arc is a lil better than memphis IMO.....and im a die hard memphis fan too ....

I sell both and I agree, amp vs. amp for what they are, Arc does offer a hair more. I like Arc a lot, but when you throw in footprint and warranty/support/price...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif In that situation, I choose Memphis.

I've never used Arc stuff before, but I've owned 4 Memphis amps (2 Mclass and 2 Studio line) as well as a pair of Mclass subs. Have never been let down by a Memphis product and the warranty is great if bought from an authorized dealer. Although I think they have to install it to get the 3-year warranty.
