Arc Audio Or Alpine Sub - Arc AMP

I am finally getting around to redoing my system. (Yay for money)

My AMP is ARC Audio 1500-XXK Amp. (Stereo @ 2 ohms = 2 x 450 watts)

(Bridged @ 4 ohms = 1 x 900 watts)

(Bridged @ 2 ohms = 1 x 1000 watts)

My question is, should I run this to my Alpine TYPE R SWR-1242D

(Power Handling

Power Handling Capacity (RMS): 500W

Power Handling Capacity (Peak): 1500W)

OR

Re-cone my Arc 15D2 Sub (for $~60-80) RMS power handling - 750 watts

OR

Purchase another Alpine Type R, and Run two...can my amplifier run it? If so in Parallel or series?

Whats the best option?

This is all going into a 1996 BMW 328, not sure if it matters.

I am not sure if 2 Type R's would be under powered by my sub. And also, I am not sure if I would have to get both 1st generation. Not sure if my current one is the older version, but I'd assume it is, since I got it about 2 years ago.

Alright so I have the 500 watt RMS 2nd Generation Type R.

Should I use both Jumpers and have 2 ohms going into the ARC xxk1500 bridged, which will yield 1000 watts.

Is that a bad idea?

Not sure how many watts I should feed to the Type R. I'm going to borrow a friend's voltmeter to measure it out later tonight.

And if its bridged, do I change any of the calculations? I was reading the JL Audio Amp tutorial on gain, and it confused me :S
