Neon Tetras might. I don't remember. I used to have a 30 gallon with a shitload of neon tetras in it and not much else. I love those fish they are like 50 cents each and they swim in schools so theyre fun to watch

x2 and that's the only one i can actually think of that's cheap. there were a lot of african and amazon cichlids that had flourescenet in them, that would possibly glow in blacklight, but nothing worth spending 5+ or even 10+ a fish on if you just want your tank to look fancy.

Plus don't you need to have "brackish" water to keep cichlids?

I like freshwater fish that aren't fussy. This thread has totally convinced me to go to my parents house and get my old tank and set it up.

no. i had plenty of cichlids that were pure freshwater...

there's a fishstore by my house called Cichlid World, and there isn't a single saltwater or brackish tank in there.

yea my friend's going to buy a snake at petco when I get out of work, so instead of getting some gas money for driving him, to just have him buy me some fish lol. I figured I'd just get the tank filled back up since i have some more space in my room and throw a bunch of cheap fish in it.

if you just want your tank to look fancy under blacklight, get some of the neon gravel, a black background poster, some neon tetras, and as much flourescent(sp) decor as you can.

stores like petsmart have stuff like this

or if you go local mom and pop fish shops, they usually have an abundance of glow decor, and don't ask me why.

Neon shit in a tank is so cheesey imo, glowy fish is where its at.

i completely agree. when me and my friend used to go to the fish store to look at fish we actually had this running joke to see who could find the most annoying tank decor, and it was always some annoying bright super fake looking plant, or bright green castle or something. but i just wasn't going to get down on the OP for no reason lol

Yeah I always got mad zen with my tank back in the day, trying to pick fish that achieved a balance and really natural rock formations. I did use plastic plants though, I couldn't be bothered with real ones, but they looks real and not like a raver's attire.

natural colored pebble or sand and real looking plants are definately the way to go.
