The 2200 is a very ballsy amp, especially for the footprint. And as stated it looks like it has the same board of the Hifonics BXI2607, but I have owned both amps and the AQ 2200 is much stronger. And I heard from a reliable source that the AQ and Hifonics are not same board not even built in the same buildhouse they just look very similiar because everything gets recycled through all the buildhouses over there. Believe me when I bought the amps I was expecting the BXI2607D in a AQ case but when I got them hooked up they exceeded the BXI2607D and my hopes for them, and I had very very high hopes for them. To sum it up they are not the same amp, the AQ is much stronger eventhough it is rated for 400 watts less and the AQ 2200 is cheaper than the BXI2607 after adding in shipping. AQ FTW!!!!!!

how do you know this amp is "stronger". did you meter it or is it by ear? the ear would not be a reliable source in this case because there power output is to close.

Just because the board looks the same, or hell even if it was the same board doesn't mean squat! A board is merely a board with circuitry mapped out. Has nothing to do with the overall amp.

Someone who owns both should do a bench,drop in, and in car voltage output on them and post the results. Come on help us out.

I had them tested and the AQ was a full db louder and that is one AQ and one BXI2607 in the same setup

Sweet, does it pull less current than the hifonics? I plan on doing a side by side test with my mmats 2200.1. It does 2500 + into a reactive load on 13.8 volts. If the AQ gets close or exceeds this benchmark. I will be the driving the AQ bandwagon.

i do not know I just had it my setup metered with the AQ and the 2607 and the AQ was louder

Just an update, Installed and tested these. I am very happy to say the least. First test was in car with a 1ohm load at 13.2 volts and I was able to get 53.2 volts on the output before the dummy clip light came on. That is a little over 2800 watts. In a side by side test my MMats 2200.1 does a little over 2500 at 13.2 volts. So in the real world if you can get close to a 1ohm load you will see the rated power and then some. Now for the fun part, strapped the pair to my 2 DD9515's and they are amazing. There is things moving in my truck that were not meant to move like that. I now have some sick roof flex my rear view mirror is history. Ran the truck at a local comp and the setup did a 147.9 with little to no tuning, not a bad baseline in a full size Tahoe with no sound deadening. Can you compare the 9515 to the HDC315? I was wondering if you have heard both. I have 2 choices running through my feeble mind right now...2 HDC3 15's or 2 DC Lvl 4 15's. The 9515 and HDC3 look so much alike to me, I figure they have similar suspensions and such.

Can you compare the 9515 to the HDC315? I was wondering if you have heard both. I have 2 choices running through my feeble mind right now...2 HDC3 15's or 2 DC Lvl 4 15's. The 9515 and HDC3 look so much alike to me, I figure they have similar suspensions and such.

I have no experience with the hdc3's, but from what I have read they are in between a 9500 series and the 3500 series. DD guys say they arent a 9500 but they look alike to me with similiar motor and basket CF cone. And we already know they can take a ton of power. If the HDC3's were in stock I would have a pair by now. I can vouch for some of the best customer service I have experienced. Placed both orders overnight and hours later I recieve a tracking # with a scheduled delivery date. Didn't even have a chance to wonder how long they would be getting here. I have yet to hear anything bad about any of AQ's products and everyone says you can't go wrong for the price, after hearing these 2200's I have to agree. After reading all the AQ2200 revies and whatnot i think i'm going to have to jump on the wagon and pick one up with my tax return( f*ck uncle sam) then just to decide on a moofer... maybey a HDC3 12? 9512? funky pups? oh god the options!
