AQ2200D or Hifonics Bxi 2608

Putting together a system for a friend thinking two AQ HDC3 12's...will they take much over 1000rms daily? If so would the Hifonics put out more than the AQ2200? Or should i tell him to step up to the AQ3500? Any help is appreciated

That is no comparison there, the AQ will kill the HiFonics in quality. Depends what u like. Those subs will take 2k daily also...

If u were talking about Hifonics XX or XXV I would say Hifonics, but BXI hummm I would go AQ

**** 2k daily? Well in that case ill highly recommend the 3500, and as for electrical how about big 3, 2 runs of + 1/0, and 2 kinetik 2400s or d3100s in the trunk?

AQ is the better brand yes, but the Bxi 2608 will make more power than the Aq2200D. IMO I would get the aq3500d or any other 3k watt amp and your set. You want no less than 1500 watts rms per Sub. Some people run an aq2200d to each sub which I Think is pointless for a daily setup. In my testing I found that 1500 watts per sub is more than enough for a daily app. To the ear my 2 hdc3's sound the same off of a crunch gp3000d-pro (great low budget amp btw) as they did off of 2 aq2200d's for almost less than half the price. For daily 3k watts is golden, if your going to comps or whatever then try 2-3k watts each.

Yes the aq3500 would be ideal but for the money I would go with the crunch gp3000d-pro. Why spend 250$ more on the aq3500d when the 450$ crunch will give you the same effect? If you have money to throw around then get the aq3500d just for the simple fact that matching equipment is cool. Other than that imo the best bang for your buck would be the crunch gp3000d-pro, you won't be disappointed.

Actually, I think the AQ is underrated and the Hifonics do rated. I have posted pics of the insides of both before if you do a search. They are both 2500 rms amps, give or take a hundred or so. I have seen more AQ's in need of repair than Brutus's. I'd take the AQ just to match the amps but either one will do. Whichever you can get cheaper I guess.

The reason most would take the AQ3500 over the crunch is because the AQ's warranty and quality is much higher than that of the crunch. It is nice to know that even if something does happen to break, it is warrantied.

The hifonics are slightly overrated while the AQ will do rated power. I have seen quite a few Brutus's blow first hand, so I don't like them to much. T
