So ive been hearing a LOT about the AQ subs... can anyones kind soul tell me what it stands for and a website where i can browse these subwoofers? Thanks guys.

Ah indeed! By far one of the best price : performance ratio I've seen. Haven't personally owned any of the AQ gear, but a local friend has some of the stuff and it's **** good for the price.

both are great subs

it depends on what you are wanting SQ or SPL

FI gives you more options of subs and more options on them

AQ is the same as DD without the price tag. they also have better SQ than the DDs

their comparable companies with comparable product lines iirc fi may have more choice ... not sure what you are asking

I just want a big step up from my current system DAILY of course.... and really i guess the only type of system i have had is SPL... so SPL? lol. I do not want to take up my ENTIRE trunk either but a majority is ok.

AQ is primarily 38hz+ and i think FI has some woofers that are like 32hz+ IIRC

I was looking to maybe get an 18"... but i would definitely have to fire it upwards... never heard a sub thats firining up.. is it worth it? what do you guys reccomend considering i have about $550 for just Subwoofers.

nothing wrong with an up firing sub as long as you have clearance for the excursion also id put the port back so (sub up port back) and 18" will be BADASS if powered correctly

well i was planning on keeping my PCA-2000D and powering a monster 18". Any reccomendations on which one? and would i need an enclosure the size of my whole **** trunk? lol.
