AQ Help needed

Well My plan was to run 1 hdc3 10" off of a AQ1200D. But kind of thinking of going with 3 SD208. Im so undecisive and would love some help. My box is going to be around 2 cubes after Displacment and is going in a s-10 ext cab. Any ideas or suggestion greatly welcomed.

nah, just soo happened that I saw your thread at the top //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif haha, let me see if I can get you a thread on your question

Those three 8's would be crazy! I have a single AQ8 atm and it's nice...I need to build a box for it though, it's just sitting in the box it came it..the suspension is crazy stiff...

Either choice would work well. I would personally go with the option of 3 8's. The reason is the 8's would have a much smaller mounting depth, and in an S-10 that might be an advantage when trying to design your box. Even in an extended cab, the big super woofers can be a pain to orient properly so that they don't have interference problems with the port, or something else in the vehicle.

The DD Toyota extended cab, with 4 DD 1508's (which is basically the same thing as the AQ SD2 8) and a DD Z1 is pretty awesome.

The only problem I see is that the amp would only being seing a 1.33 ohm load, and it's not going to produce quite as much power as it would with a single 10 and dual 2 coils, running the amp at 1 ohm. You should have enough more cone area with the 3 8's to make up the power difference, but you might consider saving a little more cash and picking up an AQ 2200.1 when it comes out, instead of buying the 1200. That would be a killer setup for that little truck.

I was also thinking about waiting for the AQ2200D to come out, would give me a little more head room if i want to change subs.

The 2200D comes out the third week of Feb.

Thank you for your suggestion and help.

Exactly. The extra head room will also likely result in better overall sound quality, by running a cleaner signal to adequately power the subs in this setup.

Guys, there really isn't an audible difference between the copper and aluminum coils. Sure the copper did a slightly better score in testing on low power, but it wasn't a difference you can hear.
