Aq Hdc3 18 vs 3 Kicker L7 15s

I have seen 2-15's do some nice work in that vehicle set a meca state record here in ky.
i was thinking about 2 15s before but ended up not. if i could find 2 15s that i like and someone who would trade for a 18 i would

in this org it goes by headrest and my back seat headrest are 24 1/2 or 24 3/4 inches tall i can go above the hatch glass line
Yea, I seen your posts about headrest scores. I never thought that was all that hard to pull a number there.

If you are able to go that high, then I think you should have the room for 2 15s ported back there.

ok so i think between the 12s or 15s, id like to go 15s because that was the class i was already in. but i have to find someone woh has some 15s that i like and willing to trade lol

Very late coming back here but 2 things. 15 cu is actually quite small to run 3 L7 15s. Not that you couldn't get away with it, and not that it wouldn't be loud, but they really thrive in about 5-6 cu each after displacement.

Second, The only thing that has changed over the life of the L7 is the rigidity of the cone. With that said, cone mass has also changed, so the newest of the bunch will sound better on music, and be punchier, but the oldest model(s) will actually meter higher because there is less moving mass on the same motor and spiders.

Tested with both L7s and Solo Xs. Old versions meter better, new versions sound much more musical.

ok. i was reading the kicker website and some one was saying 4.5 per sub. because i dont want a burp box. i want a daily with a good spl meter score on music for the org i compete in

Trust me when I say this, Kicker knows nothing about box dimensions on their square subs. Every box we've ever built has been nearly 2x their recommended specs, and every one has been insanely loud and will still meter decent. The VC of Kicker subs doesn't like being very over-powered, so your option is go big to gain efficiency. I'm probably the biggest Kicker supporter on this or any forum, and I hate that they won't take power. It is hilarious to see people's reaction when they see a 13.5 cu box for 2 12s though, then make them jump out of the seat with only 3,000w (more like 2,000 after rise).

If you give em a 15cu box and plenty of port, they'll still scream.

Idk.... Lol... I may just end up keeping my 18 and doing **** how i should have in the first place. As in upgade alt and stuff like that... I know just by doin a direct swap from bb2400 to this dtr3400 that it got louder with my previous box i have. Im about to put that box back in and get in some Meter time. Should hopefully be improving my score soon hopefully at least at a 150. I got a couple meca vets helpin me his name is matt wilson if any of u kno him and his friend bud ballinger(spell check)....

That would be cool, but it wouldn't be as loud. Although, I'm for less cones and less cone area= more impressive. People expect 3 15s to be loud, they don't expect the same from 1 18.

Thats why i usually only run a single sub system... But those the guys that are helping seem to think i should i should be able to get atleast a 151 out of it out just got figure out all of the tweeks and what not. So after i get a bigger alt ima recone my 18 into a dual 1 & run my amp at .5 ohm... 3400rms FTW lol
