Aq hdc3 18 problems

I recently bought two Aq hdc 18s from Mast240 on this forum. One hits great but when I put the other one in an enclosure it squeaks when it hits. I switched the subs in the enclosure but the same sub sqeaks so it isn't my box. Any ideas why it could be squeaking? Btw I tried to contact mast240 when I installed the subs but no answer..

It didnt squeak when I free air tested it. Only when i have it in the enclosure. I'm pretty sure the enclosure is sound though. And when manually depressing the cone I can't feel any obvious voice coil rubbing so I'm not real sure..

If you free air the driver and no sounds are made, try moving the driver around while it is playing in free air. If still nothing, odds are it is not the actual sub being the issue.

If you send the driver to AQ they test it (free air) and nothing is found, they will tell you it is fine as would almost any company.

Andrew is a good guy, so if there is any issues I'm sure he would resolve them, but from what I am reading on the situation so far it does not sound like there is anything he could do at this time.

A recone should take care of any type of problem though right because your basically replacing everything tht moves?

Unless there is no issues with the driver. A "squeak" is not a normal sound a damaged driver will make.

If it was the enclosure I'd be looking for air leaks or port noise due to sharp edges? And if it was the woofer would it most likely be the vc rubbing you think?

I'm sure he just got caught up with a few things going on, his life is pretty hectic currently.

Is there anyway you can get a video of the noise? Perhaps we can help offer some suggestions on what to check.

I'll put it through the works again free air test it check the

Enclosure and try to video it when I get home tonight. Thanks for any input guys
