AQ clipping light

Just got an Aq2200 and I was reading that the clipping light on the bass knob is kinda pointless because it always goes off. Is this true? I should be installing it tomorrow and just wanted to know if I should ignore the clipping light.

i actually heard they are pretty accurate detecting clipping. i run the 2200d also

It is very accurate, I have checked it with an oscope.

It should be dead on. The light indicates clipping.. A amplifier starts to clip on the verge of when the internal input voltage becomes the same or greater than the internal output voltage. People may think it's off because a person with good hearing can only start to hear distortion at 10% T.H.D.
