i sent ts from the hdc310 to 2 guys i know, and didnt told them what sub it was, and both of them recommended way smaller boxes than aq and DD recomend..

I did the same thing with the ts that jacob measured from the 1508, according to them it would sound much better in a much smaller box than that DD recommend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

so can anyone tell me why they recommend so big boxes?

so the only thing is so the sub can play lower? even that its not really "fit" in the box? why not choose another sub made for a bigger box?

Worstenemy453: i know they are, but its so strange to know that the sub dont really like the recommended space..

A lot of companies dont know what their subs like because they dont do testing like others, Why do you think Sundown subs love what Jacob recomends, he tests every sub before retail starts so he knows the in's and out's, others dont.

its funny DD's owner is the son of the AQ owner. the aq uses alot of the same technology that dd uses. but dd's stuff is a little better in the cooling departments. and amps and cone material.

okey so basicly ts and programs is not worth a shit for caraudio?
No.

It's just that cabin reinforcement plays such a big role, that trying to simulate it is nearly pointless. Also, since 90% of people here will buy based on SPL scores, testing for that makes sense.

okey, but what if you dont only look at dbs, and want a good sounding vented, with a straight line from 35-60hz is ts any help then?
