apply vinyl

ok so I have purchased to different adhesives for the vinyl and neither worked.. I am trying to bond it to wood.. Any one have any advice.. Also i can't use staples the wood is too thin..

Thats the problem. I believe staples help hold the vinyl in place along with glue. That material is difficult to work with.

what kind of glue you using??

and i apply headliner first then vinyl give it a nice finish no blemishes shining through

but i use glue i buy in 5 gal jugs i can look at it to morrow

and yes finish staples @ edges

first i tried.. multipurpose fabric adhesive.. spray can.. worked but the next morning in the heat it was loose..

then I bought some stuff that is called tear mender from joanns.. lady said it would work.. not working at all..

yea i stretch everything to rear or bottom and staple

thing is i am using like 1/8 in thick wood..

i am not gluing the vinyl there is a backing behind it.. i am trying to glue that to the wood..

i did.. I laid glue on the wood and stretched it to around back and clamped it for a while to let glue dry.. it worked yesterday til the heat took it

You giving the glue a minute or so to release the air bubbles before you pull the vinyl over it?

ya.. I lay it down spread it out and the pull.. I have soo much Extra i am going to do it again some other time.. I will put some carpet(thin) to make it "softer" to the look too
