apply vinyl

Is it a cloth-backed vinyl?

This is what I used for my vinyl trim piece and it worked just fine. Purchased @ the Home Depot

The stuff we use at the shop comes in a 5 gal container and is basically contact cement. If your using the stuff in a can it has to be the kind that comes out kinda stringy almost like snot. You can't use the aresol kind it just doesn't have the bond(know from expierance). You need to lay it pretty heavy and coat both surfaces.Let it set up or at least 10 min before you begin to work it.Then around the edges you want to use a good hot melt glue instead of staples.

goto lowes/ home depot/ walmart - buy a can of 3m super 77 - spray both pieces vinyl and wood - let dry to the touch (that is a must) the attach - becareful once it hits it sticks.

The only thing to use on vinyl in a hot arse car IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's what I use for adhering carpet to boxes and that's the stuff you should use for vinyl too. Just make sure you read the instructions. You must apply it to BOTH surfaces and let it actually DRY for 15-20 minutes. Then you touch the two together and they bond permanently. Make sure you really stretch it to the edges well and don't leave any slack, once those two things touch, they're pretty much there for good and the bond only strengthens with time.

And heat, the HHR is great due to the heat making the bond stronger as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
