Does anyone have any problems with the AP30001D going into protect under extreme loads. If it hits notes to hard or for to long it shuts down. Could this possibly be a RCA voltage issue? Im using an Alpine CDA-7998 as HU. I have no voltage drops as when system is full tilt w/ AC on the lowest the voltage goes is 12.3

What are the subs wired to? Maybe your voltage gauge is wrong?

subs are wired to 1ohm on each side of amp, The fluke77 III doesnt lie

Yeah same here..my voltage doesnt really drop but it will go to protect on heavy bass hits on 1 ohm. my volt meter reads high 13's to low 14s when im driving and it will still go to protect at 1 ohm.

well i read great reviews about them before i bought it and for 300 it wasnt a bad price to try i guess, I think it may be more my amp then anything

i thought they are only 2 ohm stable. 1 ohm with a very good electrical.

You have 2 c&d batts though. try to run it at a higher load or swap amps

yeah they say its only 2 ohm but i think you can get away with 1 ohm if you have the electrical to back it up. I just dont know how much you need lol. if you arent doing it with 2 c&ds in the back and big 3 im not going to bother on trying to beef up electrical for it for 1 ohm

I dont know how much more i can put in it, i have the big 3 done twice, 260A DC Power Alt, Interstate Batt up front and 2 C&D in back with everything running full tilt i get above 12.4 and at idle i get 14.2

I dont think it will hurt it cause it will just go to protect on you, but yeah.

That might help. but i think it is the amp. They should be 2 ohm stable
