AP 1800 Louder then saz 3000d..Why?

Man i wish i had a **** tool to set the gains. i dont even know anybody in the city that does. they all claim to do it by ear

go buy a dmm, and learn how to set the gain. it isnt rocket science bro.

I still wouldnt trust a dmm to set gains on an amplifier because it doesn't take impedance rise into account

Why power and ground were reversed amp went pop then it was plugged up like 2 more times at least 2 fets went pop who knows howmany more are hurting and all that was damaged was a couple things I wonder.

they check em all. they said the fets are 10$ a piece and if they have to replace em all itll be high. like 160 plus 90$ labor. but only 2 were bad

got proper amperage requirements, amps can only put so much power with below what it needs.

Miles better than by ear though.

Oscope is the surefire way. Or, if you're nervous use DMM and turn down a touch.

Go buy a dmm set it to ac connect jt to the speaker outs on the amp and on a 50hz tone turn your gains up till ur dmm reads 38avc

right now stock 125 amp alt, extra batt in trunk. cant remeber what kind but it was from a audioshop, it was used for their demo's..also big 3, all 0 guage from front to back also. i have a high output alt. on the way tho. and more batt. soon

That's what you were running your SAZ on? No wonder it blew. It takes power to make power man. Do you have a voltage meter and know what your voltages look like on this new amp and the old one? And what size alt you got coming?

Voltage never drops below 12.9 at worst. usually between 13.4-14 volt. and it blew before because somebody put the power and ground backwards

Oh well that's bad biz about swapping them. Are those voltages with the new amp or old? Did you set the gains properly on that amp, or just turn it up like you are doing on this one? I would think that amp would pull more than that at wide open, you may not have been seeing all of the power out of it; you might have had the gain lower than where you could have put it.
