Anything wrong with qlogic kick panels?

Excuse me, parking lot LOL Anyway, on the inside of the panel you could take fiberglass chopped matt and resin and reinforce them. After that I would put a layer of deadener on that as well if not non hardening modeling clay. The q-logic panels are completely open on the back side. It isn't that difficult to close it in but it would require some glass work. If you want to know how I'll send you some pictures. As for volume, you will want it to open up into the open area behind the kick panel, usually it has a small plastic piece over it or it may be completely open. Sometimes wiring will be run through it to go to the doors.
will the q logics warp if u lace them with fiber glass or will they keep their shape and hows the imaging on them?

The ones I had were pretty sturdy (I bought them before I started glassing) but I guess every set is different. It may be best to just layer them with some mat on the actual panel. As for imaging, basically they make them to fit the vehicle it seems. Some of them fire straight into the bottom of the dash and some towards the center. It really depends on the vehilcle.

i have the q-form kicks in my accord with a set of Hertz 3ways with 200rms to each side.

Sounds Great. I have my 6.5's in the doors, and the 3" and tweets in the kicks. The 3" and tweets are kinda angled funny, and at first I didn't think it would make for good imaging, but it does sound really goood. I can close my eyes and its hard to tell where teh sound is coming from, as it is very transparent. Im sure some of it has to do with speaker quality, but im happy and it was hella easier to just slap some dynamat on the q-forms to reinforce them than it would have been to custom make kicks.. espcially when the qforms are color matched to the interior and look flush...

By the time you get done ****ing around with glassing some expensive plastic you might as well build some full kicks...
You do have a point, especially when you have to pay over 150 dollars for a piece of ABS plastic that doesn't have any speaker holes and isn;t reinforced. On the other hand, I drive a manual and I'm looking for a "stock as possible" look. And the 6.5" mids I planned on putting in the kicks will only a few liters of airspace and they are only playing down to about 250-300hz. I don't know if I'd really want to put all that extra time into making kicks when they Q-Logics should work well.

Sure. These are some that I built out of the factory panel but you will get the idea. Basically just have to connect the fiberglass piece to the q-logic panel. You will probably have to glass it onto it and texture/repaint it as well. You will have to excuse the quality of some of the pictures. I'd say try it with it completely closed and see how it sounds first before you cut through into the area behind the panel. Also be sure to do something to the q-logic part to strengthen it up or add mass to it.

Do your kicks aperiodic membrane vent outside? How do you keep moisture, air, road debris and snow out of your truck? I was interested in doing aperiodic for my midbasses but I have no practical way of letting air travel out of the door while keeping everything else outside.

ya know its funny.... I was just reading yesterday on someone's thread that some people in SQ competitions leave their speakers in the stock door locations so.... take that for what its worth
They might be midbasses playing fairly low or they might have created custom mounts and tested for imaging before glassing them up. I'd amend xtreme's statement and say that speakers in doors int he stock location are pretty bad.
