Anyone work for a "big box" store - Target, Best Buy, Circuit City etc?

Well my brothers ole lady works there and make 8 I believe, and my ole ladys mom works at sonic and is a partner and makes bunches.... That would be like me saying I made 20/hr at sonic, what would you say?

A little over 2 years ... I'm not a partner, I'm the top salesman in the technlogy department ...
Thats cool, didnt realize you could make that much working there. Like I said it would be like me saying I make 20/hr at sonic, people would say //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

I was laid off from my old job at the end of last year and I'm having a hell of a time finding work. I have a college degree in business, but I live in an area with not that much industry so finding a job has been tough. Luckily, there are tons of big box stores around- Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City etc etc... Anyway, I am thinking about going around to a few of these stores and speaking with the human resource department to drop off my resume.
So, my question to anyone worked/working at a big box store- what has your experience there been like? Could someone with a college degree find a decent job at one of these store? And by decent I mean at least $10-12 an hour. Any ideas??
I thought the idea of getting a degree was to avoid hourly wages and move to salary. If there is nothing in your area that can fulfill the use of a person with a degree then I suggest you move to a location that can offer this. Get your moneys worth of your education and put it to use. I understand moving can be expensive, but you have to look at it as an opportunity cost.

I agree w/ this ... Put your education to good use. I guarantee you won't make more than 25K/year if you work at a big box store, at least in the first year, which is fvck all ...

I work at BestBuy .. i make 9.78/hr .. and i just started this past oct. 2007. Anyway .. you def wont be expecting much when starting at a big box store .. unless you start off as a manager or something along those lines .. starting off pay to expect would be $8 to 9 .. depends all on area ..
